I haven't seen Mrs. E since I graduated from high school 50 years ago. But she was a person I never forgot. Her son, Virgil, was a friend, and she was always gracious and seemed unflappable, independent and competent in the June Cleaver era. I'll never forget the birthday party for Virgil probably when we were in junior high when she bravely took a number of us to see a sci-fi movie. Scared the heck out of me for years. What a life to celebrate and commemorate. Our family's thoughts and prayers to Mariellyn and Virgil.
