Biography

Patricia Ann Maust, 65, of Jesup, died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.  

She was born August 3, 1952 in Earlville, Iowa, daughter of Lavern and Catherine Mormann. Patricia graduated from Earlville High School in 1970, and later earned an associate’s degree.

Patricia married Ray Maust on December 15, 2006 in Spokane, Washington.

She worked as a CNA in several hospitals. She most recently worked at Eagle Self Storage in Mead, Washington. In 1996, she drove a team and wagon on the Oregon Trail near Chimney Rock in Nebraska.

Patricia is survived by: her husband, Ray; three children: Heather Ann Pesci of Ohio and Jamie Hoefer and Sarah Ann (Dustin) Seda, both of Woodbine, IA; nine grandchildren; two stepsons: Tony Maust of Barstow, CA and Aaron Maust of San Bernadino, CA; a sister, Mary Ann (George) Nicholson of Rosalia, WA; adopted sister, Shirley Kahler of Traer; and a dog, Cookie.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and a dog, Sage.

Patricia was a spiritual person. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, making dresses and shirts. She also rode horseback and learned to drive a team and wagon.

    Dearest Cousin Ray: 

    So sorry for you & your family's loss. Unfortunately, I  didn't get to know Patty, but talking with her at the 2016 reunion she seemed very sweet. I'm sure she'll be missed. Prayers and hugs from Wisconsin.
