Biography

Searle Dean White, 90, of Waterloo, died at Covenant Medical Center on Saturday, April 29, 2017. 

Searle was born on October 4, 1926 in Logan, Iowa, son of Ira K. and Ivy (Duncan) White. 

He graduated from Logan High School in 1945. Searle married Joan Hansen on November 4, 1950 in Missouri Valley, Iowa; she preceded him in death on May 6, 2010.

Searle worked for Enron as a Meter Tech for many years. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also loved to golf and garden.

Searle is survived by: a daughter, Carol (Ron) Pelley of Waterloo; a son, Jim (Tanya) White of Bartlett, TN; four grandchildren: Brandon Pelley of Waterloo, Ryan (Stephanie) White of Arlington, TN, Jenny (Bill) White‑Shearer of Brandon, MS, and Dr. Kari Pelley of Evergreen, CO; three great-grandchildren: Taylor Hurdle-White and Luke and Will Shearer; and a brother, Byron (Lorna) White of Omaha, NE. 

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; a brother: Arnold White; and two sisters: Frances Wahl and Lois Stuhr.
