Biography Dora Lee Maser, 91, of Evansdale and formerly of Fayette, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital. Dora was born on August 16, 1929 in Lamont, Iowa to Seth and Dessa (Nading) Rhines. She attended school through the 8th grade, and proudly went on to receive her GED at the age of 65. Dora married Leo J. Maser on April 20, 1947 in Fayette; he died August 31, 1994. She married Harold Maser on September 8, 2018. Dora was the youngest 91 year old you would ever meet. She was primarily a homemaker and was an active member in the Red Hat Society as well as the Arlington American Legion Post #219 Ladies’ Auxiliary. You could also often find her volunteering at Bowers Best in Independence. She was skilled at writing stories and had also wrote a cookbook. Dora and Harold were avid Dodgers baseball fans; she knew all the players by heart. Some of her hobbies included crafting, singing & yodeling, and clogging & square dancing. Survived by her husband, Harold Maser of Evansdale; three daughters, P.J. (Mark) Trostel of Wetmore, Colorado, Carmen (Mike) Dixon of Wetmore, Colorado and Michelle “Missy” (Kevin) Langdale of Evansdale; nine grandchildren, Brandi, Michael Louis, Jimmy, Christel, Kelli, Lacy, Tyler, Samantha, and Chelsey; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Bud (Rae) Rhines of Arizona.
