Cemetery Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Biography Jack B. Artis, Jr. 68, of Waterloo, died Saturday February 13, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital. He was born December 20, 1952 in Marks, MS the son of Jack Artis, Sr. and Maybell Becton. He married JoAnn Crawford in July of 1970; they were later divorced. He married Debra Shorter on December 31, 1998 in Waterloo. Jack worked as an independent contractor for Yellow Book distribution, under his wife, Debra. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Jack enjoyed fishing, shopping, vacations, all you can eat buffets, spending time with family and friends, and his dog, King. A joy in his life was raising his 13 year old daughter, Ariel. Survived by: his wife, Debra Artis of Waterloo; 16 children, Terry Artis of Waterloo, Ann Artis of Clarksdale, MS, Jackie Lamont (Tara Giles) Artis of Oxford, MS, Lionel (Kim Sallis) Crawford of Waterloo, LaQuieta Artis-Shorter of Vinton, LaDorshae Artis-Shorter of Cedar Falls, LaVenus Artis-Shorter of Waterloo, Jack L. Artis III of Marathon, Cinderella Shorter of Dike, Ariel Artis-Shorter of Waterloo, Jack D. Lane White of Milwaukee, WI, LaTosha White of Milwaukee, WI, Nakia Artis of Waterloo, Shavett (La’Jazz Edwards) Jefferson of Ann, TX, Octavia Artis and Quinton Booker both of Des Moines; four step-children, Roosevelt Easterwood, Jr, DeQueon Easterwood, Doris Bibbs all of West Palm Beach, FL and Charlotte Easterwood of Waterloo; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Robinson of Chicago, IL; a cousin, Maggie B.
