I met Lonnie in Aug of 1981.  We had begun 2 a day football.  He was from Bunger and I was from Logan.  We hit it off right away.  We both played on the line and for the next three years would be close friends both on and off the playing field.  I remember Lonnie loved to laugh... his boisterous laugh was always easily recognizable... After graduating from college, I returned to Waterloo, we often got together socially, he even was my go to guy when I needed auto body repair.  After I moved to Ankeny we didn't see each other as much.  With the assistance of Facebook and class reunions we reconnected and communicated often... I miss you Lonnie!!  Rest in Peace my friend you left us far too early.  My condolences as well to his family.

So very sorry to hear this.  My heart goes out to the family.  Mr and Mrs. Gage, Vernie and Teresa, i know that words can’t really do much right now.  But try to focus on the memories.  Don’t be afraid to laugh when you remember fun times.  Speak of him often.  Even after 9 years both of my families speak of Craig at every gathering.  Usually followed by gales of laughter.  For now, I just send you my deepest sympathy, and know that others care and pray for strength for you all.  Your friend, Linda Atkins
