A life well lived and a good teacher. There are some teachers you never forget and Mrs. Runyan was one of those. Thanks for being there. Mr. and Mrs. Runyan were truly pillars of the teaching community in LaPorte and I cared deeply for them both.

I remember taking care of her parents when Mr. and Mrs. Runyan went on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Thune were lovely people too. My deepest condolences to the family.

Sad to hear the news.  We have so many great memories of Mariellyn and Don with all our visits to Lake Ida.  Mariellyn was such a sweet and caring lady and an outstanding teacher.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the family members.

    Dear Family,

My sympathy to you in the loss of your dear mother, Mrs. Runyan, as we LPC students respectfully addressed her back in the 1960's.  She touched the lives of many people with herquiet demeanor.

I am happy to have had Mrs. Runyan in my life. She was a wonderful teacher and super human being. She was a great influence to me during my high school years and will continue to be in my memories for years to come.

My sympathy to all of Mariellyn's family.  She was a sweet lady and I will miss seeing her at the nursing home.  She was my Spanish teacher for two years during high school, so it was hard for me to get used to calling her by her first name!  She had always been "Mrs. Runyan" to me!  I finally got to know her as "Mariellyn".  She will certainly be missed.

She was one of the great teachers who cared a lot for her students, even though as students some of us gave her a lot of grief. She did a great job of guiding us through some of the more advanced math and at the time "new age" computer classes. She will be missed. Condolences to the family.

What a wonderful lady!! She was loved by her students and her colleagues. She will brighten up Heaven that's for sure just like she brightened up our school and those of us who were fortunate enough to know her.
