Mildred L. Hansen, age 89, of Waterloo, died at ManorCare Health Services on May 11, 2017.

She was born on April 17, 1928 in Jones County, IA; the daughter of Karl J. & Rachel (Ralston) Kuriger. She graduated Cedar Falls High School in 1947.

Mildred married Carl Frederick Hansen on September 19, 1947 in Cedar Falls; he preceded her in death on April 6, 2011. She was a homemaker.                 

Survivors include two daughters, Connie (Michael) Hites of Evansdale and Carol Deahl of Marshalltown; three sons, Steven Hansen of Waterloo, Richard Hansen of Cedar Falls, and Kevin Hansen of Waterloo; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great‑great‑grandchildren; a brother, Phillip Kuriger of Evansdale; and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Wendt of New Hampton.

Preceded in death by her husband, Carl; great-granddaughter, Heather Fishler; two brothers, Raymond & Paul Kuriger; four sisters, Florence Sherbon, Rosemary Jenkins, Theresa Wiley, and Margaret Scoles.
