Biography

Relda Mae Weber, 90, of Waterloo, formerly of Jesup, died at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center, on Tuesday, September 17, 2018. She was born August 17, 1928 in McGregor, the daughter of Eldo and Willa Mae Pixler Klingeman.

Relda married Palmer Johanningmeier on August 14, 1946, they later divorced. Then she married LaVerne Weber, April 12, 1969 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She worked at McKenna Studios for 15 years.

She was a member of Jesup Bible Fellowship. She loved gardening, cooking, crocheting, and loved to spend time with family, especially with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Larry) Frost-Schellhorn of Waterloo; three sons, Clyde Johanningmeier of MN, Bruce Johanningmeier of WA, and Kevin Johanningmeier of Independence; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Rodger) Columbo, Heather Johanningmeier, Shane (Kristi) Frost, Aimee (Jeremy) Frost-Grant-Furman, Christine (Greg) Fangman, Adam Johanningmeier, Angie (Jeff) Anderson, Jill Johanningmeier, Katie Johanningmeier, and Sara (Josh) Wolf; thirty six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; five nieces and nephews, Vickie, Mark, Brenda, Gail, and Todd Klingeman; and one sister, Jean Nissen of Oelwein.

Preceded by parents; husband LaVerne; brother Billy; son in law, Dennis Frost; daughter in law, Becky Johanningmeier; and grandson in law, Chad Grant.

    I worked with Relda at National Studio in the late 60's, learning to print the color portraits.

    Her attached portrait is tintited color before the new color that we were learnning. Relda's good friend Kitty Wiggins tinted the color then and retouched the negatives.
